- Review & Accolades
This wine has great balance and is vibrantly fruit. Deep purple colour with a purple tinge, the nose has deep black fruit aromas of blackberry, mulberry and liquorice with black pepper notes and some complex tarry secondary characters. Toasty vanillin characters contributed by the oak sit in the background. Bright fruited and round the palate is a generous mouthful of black fruits and spice with fine soft tannins.

Selected from the Childerley Block, the Shiraz came in earlier than in previous years, around mid-March. It was then crushed and fermented in open-top stainless steel fermenters for eight days. The wine was then racked into barrel, 22% new French oak barriques with the balance going into seasoned oak for 18 months.
"Starts with sweet mulberries, peppermint and redcurrants. It's dry, but there's an appealing sweet spot that gives way to the furry commanding tannins, with oak neatly in place. Its best years are ahead."
